Troop 380 set off to Camp Bowman at Goshen Scout Reservation this morning. It was a nice sunny day for the troop to head off to camp. After shuffling the gear around in the bus a bit, all the scouts were loaded and were ready to head out. We will see them when they return next week with a number of merit badges and rank advancements completed.
First Class Scout Alejandro Gonzales-Evans became a new member of the Order of the Arrow on May 15, 2016. Troop members elected Alejandro, Star Scout Niels and First Class Scout Noah as candidates to attend the Order of the Arrow Ordeal Weekend. Alejandro successfully completed all of the requirements of Ordeal Weekend. At the conclusion of Ordeal Weekend, he was accepted as a member of the Order of the Arrow in a colorful ceremony held at Cedarville State Forrest, Maryland. Candidates Niels and Noah will attend the Ordeal Weekend this Fall. To learn more about the Order of the Arrow please visit their web site at http://www.oa-bsa.org.
Troop 380 Life Scout Will Haislmaier is conducting a drive to assist the needy in developing countries by collecting used bikes for Bikes for the World. Please bring your used bike to the Hill Center on Saturday, March 19. Troop 380 scouts are expected to assist, and can sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a4fa4ac29a3ff2-will.

Troop 380 will have an open house on September 30th from 7:30PM until 8:45PM at St. Peter’s Church Hall, 313 2nd St SE (enter on C st). We will have a fun evening planned with games and scout skills. If you are interested in joining Boy Scouts, this is where you can come see what Troop 380 has to offer.
YOU can be a Boy Scout if you are:
A boy age 11, or at least 10 and have completed the 5th grade
OR have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light award
AND are younger than 18 years old

The scouts are having a great time at camp. The first day was a bit rainy, but Sunday was great. The scouts are now all off to their merit badge classes.
The bus has started to move. We got a bit wet but we will hopefully dry off during the ride. Troop 500 is on the bus with us, why didn’t the bus just come to capitol hill?
