The Troop meets in the basement hall of St. Peter’s Church at 313 2nd Street, SE Washington, DC 20003 every Wednesday evening. Meetings start promptly at 7:15 pm and finish at 8:45pm. A typical meeting might include working on a merit badge, planning a campout (we have a monthly camping trip), scouting skills practice, or working on advancements.
The Troop currently has approx. 21 members including 2 recent Eagle Scouts. Some boys join the Troop each year having ‘graduated’ from Cub Scouts but all young men are welcome to join, even if they have no previous scouting experience.
Our goal is to provide an exciting and challenging Scouting program for middle school and high school aged boys in the Washington, DC/Capitol Hill area. Boy Scouts focuses on providing boys with opportunities and experiences in leadership, physical fitness, character development, civic responsibility, and outdoor Scouting skills. Our Troop is sponsored by St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Capitol Hill. Although we are affiliated with the church and embrace a Catholic identity, boys of all religious backgrounds are welcome to join.
