Today was the most beautiful day all week. The weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun. The scouts finished off merit badges, achieved swimming milestones, swamped kayaks intentionally, and the camp put on a water carnival and Campfire. At the water event, the troop participated in a water foot race, sandcastle building contest, and Scoutmaster/Senior Patrol Leader canoe race. It turns out that the SPL’s brother raced instead of the SPL, and the troop team pairs had to jump out of the canoe each time the whistle blew. This made for an exciting race with a respectable finish for the Troop 380 team. The scouts are looking forward to getting home to a shower, and food cooked by somebody else; earlier this week, a couple of scouts were overheard discussing how they really missed having meals cooked for them.
